Compassion Family Medicine is a Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Family Medicine clinic. We are a privately-owned local business and primary care clinic that accepts patients ages 3 years old and up. We do not accept health insurance, similar to other DPC clinics, but we do offer membership options at affordable prices.
Compassion Family Medicine is not formally considered a Concierge Medicine clinic. Some people equate Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Concierge Medicine, whereas other people like to separate the two terms based on membership costs, whether or not they take insurance, etc. For our purposes at CFM, we most commonly use the DPC terminology and don’t use it interchangeably with Concierge Medicine. Either way we strive to provide excellent and accessible medical care at an affordable cost.
In describing Direct Primary Care, some people use statements such as, “a new kind of primary care” or “classic medicine with a modern touch.” Although, comparatively to current or conventional healthcare models, the goals of Direct Primary Care is to remove barriers and delivery high quality care. DPC give you medical care that is tailored to your individual needs and gives you direct access to your primary care physician (PCP). In this case, it is Nevin White, DO and Emily White, DO who are the owners and physicians of Compassion Family Medicine.
A few other things to be aware of: even though we don’t accept insurance, patients can still use their insurance for labs, imaging, medications, referrals, etc. Also, patients are surprised to see how smooth the process is and how well they are taken care of at a private clinic compared to a large health system and even without using insurance to see their doctor.
